Terms of Use
Dear Travel Lounge Customer
Please take 5 minutes to read through the following important information.
Important Information - Terms Of Use
All holidays advertised on this web site are subject to availability. The Travel Lounge uses a scanning system that checks tour operator availability. Once you submit your enquiry, this system will show you the latest range of holidays available within your criteria. This information is updated at regular intervals - but is not live. All holidays are therefore subject to availability once checked by our travel advisors in our contact centre. If you cannot find the holiday you are looking for this may be due to the tour operators system not being able to be accessed via this link - in this event please contact us where we have access to thousands of holidays.
There is a range of abbreviations used commonly by tour operators. Here are the typical ones:-
- RO - ROOM ONLY
- SC - SELF CATERING
- BB - BED AND BREAKFAST
- HB - HALF BOARD
- FB - FULL BOARD
- AI - ALL INCLUSIVE
- MP - MEAL PLAN
- FO - FLIGHT ONLY
- SV - SEA VIEW
- SSV - SIDE SEA VIEW
- GV - GARDEN VIEW
- CS - COT SPACE AVAILABLE
- AB - AMERICAN BREAKFAST
- CB - CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST
All prices displayed are based upon maximum occupancy of holiday units. Fewer passengers travelling could result in a higher price being charged. The translation of 'an all inclusive package' depends upon the specific hotel the package applies to.
Your Booking
Your receipts are issued by The Travel Lounge who act as retail agents for the principal with whom your travel arrangements have been made with. Where the principal is a Tour Operator who holds an ATOL (Air Travel Operators Licence) the licence number is shown on your confirmation advice.
All travel arrangements are subject to the principals (Tour Operator, Airline etc) terms and conditions of booking. You are bound by these conditions, a copy of which can be made available upon request.
Requests
If your holiday is a 'late deal' and your accommodation is allocated on arrival, very few tour operators will allow any special requests. If you need special assistance or have any medical requests, we strongly advise you to book a named accommodation holiday. All requests will be noted but cannot be guaranteed.
Low Deposits
You may have taken advantage of our 'low deposit' offers when booking holiday in advance. You should remember that although you are paying us a lower deposit to reserve your holiday, The Travel Lounge are still bound to pay the full deposit to the Tour Operator. This means that if you decide to cancel your holiday, you will still be liable to pay The Travel Lounge the remainder of the full deposit.
Payment of Balances
Please note that balances of payments due must be received by The Travel Lounge no later than 12 weeks prior to travel. We reserve the right to charge an administration fee of £15 per person where payments are received after this time. At the time of booking you will have been asked if you wish us to automatically debit your credit or debit card. Where you have agreed this will occur on or around 12 weeks prior to departure. All credit card transactions incur a handling charge of 2.5% of the transaction value and debit card transactions incur a handling free of 40p for the full transaction value.
Insurance
We advise that when travelling abroad all customers take out adequate travel insurance. It is a condition of booking with many tour operators and airlines that you will have adequate travel insurance and it is possible that you can be denied from travelling if proof of cover cannot be provided. Please read our "Travel Insurance" section on our home page.
Flight time & Tickets
Flight times shown are provisional and are subject to alteration as per our carrier's terms and conditions.
Many airlines require reconfirmation of travel arrangements, outbound and inbound 48 hrs before departure.
Tickets are generally issued seven to fourteen days before departure. For late bookings sometimes it is necessary to issue documents on departure at the airport. Please contact us one week before travel if your travel documents have not been received.
Passports, Visas and Health
All passengers must hold valid passports and should have at least six months validity before expiry. If your passport is in its final year you should check with the embassy of the country you are visiting.
Please be aware customers are responsible for any visa or inoculation requirements for their destination. Up to date travel advice can be obtained from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office on 0207 238 4503 or use www.fco.gov.uk. Free booklets called Health advice for Travellers (T6) are available by calling 0800 555777.
